Mater Filius Queen City is a home that helps pregnant women who lack the support of family or who are experiencing financial difficulties. Its services include providing a transitional residence for women during a crisis pregnancy, and helping mothers learn to appreciate and understand the great blessing that has entered their life and how to best care for that blessing in a healthy and stable manner. Its mission is to safeguard the life of the unborn child and defend the dignity of the child’s mother, regardless of how the child was conceived.

On December 5th and 6th following each Mass, members of LaSalle K of C will be collecting money for Mater Filius and will be giving away “Keep Christ in Christmas” car magnets as a thank you for your donation. They will be accepting cash or checks made out to Mater Filius Queen City. All donations will go directly to the home, and Knights of Columbus Insurance together with anonymous individual Knights have made a commitment to match the first $1000 collected. So Please Donate. To learn more about Mater Filius visit their website at https://mfqc.org/.

While the holidays are supposed to be one of the happiest times of the year with its focus on God and family, they often produce a lot of anxiety and stress when that family is broken by parental divorce, separation, or other forms of brokenness. As now-adult children of these families, we need help to not just survive the holidays, but to try to have the joy that Christ intended us to have during these holy occasions. So this holiday support group is aimed at just that – unlocking the joy and peace of Christ.

The Life-Giving Wounds holiday support group will take place online over two evenings, November 19 (before Thanksgiving) and December 17 (before Christmas), 8:30 – 10:00 p.m. EST each night. The cost is $15 ($10 for college students). Click on the website below for the schedule, topics, speakers, and registration.

Our mission is to Inspire and cultivate devotion to Mary and the Holy Rosary, especially in young people, through the making and distribution of rosaries and rosary guides. Everyone 6th grade and up is welcome to participate. Adults and the homebound are also welcome to participate. Meetings will take place the second and fourth Fridays of every month  from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM in Loyola Hall (same time and place). Any questions contact Madalyn Hardig at rosaryguild@sainti.org.

Don’t know how to make rosaries? No Problem, we can teach you! There will be opportunities to make both cord and wire rosaries. We will make rosaries and rosary guides that will benefit our local community as well as our worldwide Catholic family. This is also a great opportunity for fellowship.
