Sister of Charity, Presentation on Laudato Si’ – Tuesday, April 9, 2019
Please join us in the St. Ignatius Hilvert Center on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 7pm for a presentation on Pope Francis’s encyclical on ecology, Laudato Si’.

Our Speaker Caroljean Willie is a Sister of Charity of Cincinnati. She has extensive experience working cross-culturally throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America as a teacher, principal, teacher-trainer, cultural diversity consultant and retreat director. She is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences and has also given presentations in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. She served two terms of office as the NGO representative at the United Nations for the Sisters of Charity Federation and continues to work with microfinancing projects in Africa. She currently serves as the Program Director for EarthConnection, an environmental center in Cincinnati, Ohio and as an Associate Director with Intercultural Consultation Services.
There will be two presentations with a break between.
Part I: Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home This presentation will focus on an overview of what the document says. There will be time built in for participants to discuss among themselves and ask questions.
Part II: Climate Change and Poverty: The Pope’s Challenge to Us This presentation will give an overview of examples of the effects of climate change on those living in poverty, but will also highlight positive initiatives when people are given the right, the will, and the capacity to direct their own future.
