June Parish Health Happenings
I hope everyone is off to a safe and joy filled summer! More importantly, happy late Feast of Corpus Christi! This feast is also called Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. This is a day when the Church honors and celebrates the real body (corpus) of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. I hope that many are able to attend the procession following the noon Mass on Sunday. Much thought and detail has gone into planning the Eucharistic procession around the St. Ignatius campus, which will be led by Fr. Christian. If you have never attended a Eucharistic procession, it is a very moving and beautiful event… one you definitely won’t want to miss! There will also be the opportunity to say goodbye to Fr. Christian with a reception in Loyola Hall immediately following the procession. I know that I will miss working with him and having an office right across from him. Fr. Christian is one of a kind and a gift to our parish and will be also to the next parish he has been called to serve.
After promoting attendance at the Eucharistic procession, I am almost embarrassed to admit that I will not be there. But I do promise it is for a good reason! My husband, younger son, sister and I are all leaving for our first trip to the Holy Land on June 11th (while some of you are reading this!). We will be accompanying a priest that we have followed online for a few years, Fr. Jeffrey Kirby. When he announced last year that he would be leading a Pilgrimage this June, we knew almost instantly that we should go. Please pray for our safety and for that of our children staying back home. But also that we fall more deeply in love with Jesus as we walk and pray where He did.
I will be returning to work on June 25th for our June physical therapy screenings.
Falling in love with Jesus fuels us to bring His love to others. There are countless ways we can do this through acts of service for others. If you have ever been on the receiving end of a home cooked meal delivered by another, you know this is one such way. For the past several months, this reoccurring thought visits my brain frequently… the idea of starting a meal making ministry as part of Parish Health. After lots of excuses and reasons why it won’t work, I have decided to listen to the Holy Spirit and do just that! I have read some ways to do this and have many creative ideas on how it could look in a parish such as ours. I will spare the bulletin space and instead, invite all those who like to cook, and even those who don’t love it but are GOOD at it, to an informational, no obligation meeting on June 27th at 7PM in the Fr. Behler room. Please RSVP to me at krewwer@sainti.org or call my office at (513) 661-6565 ext 2742 so that I may plan accordingly.
Thank you to all who prayed for Luke Gingras, the son of Matt Gingras, our physical therapist who comes monthly to volunteer his time. Matt’s last update was very positive as Luke prepares for another procedure in late June to ready his little body for a kidney transplant. Matt does plan to be here on June 25th from 9:30 am- noon for anyone who would like to have a free screening about anything PT related. Issues such as chronic pain, sports injuries, arthritis, mobility problems and more can all be addressed with Matt. Come take advantage of Matt’s generosity in serving the Lord by serving you!
Blood pressures will be taken after all weekend Masses on June 25th in the back of Church.May God bless you and keep you and your families safe.
