Sometime last month I was scrolling through the Parish Health portion of our website and realized how LONG my bulletin updates were getting. It occurred to me that in a Twitter world, I should probably learn the art of bullet points. And so this month, I present just the Parish Health facts…bullet points in sentence form (baby steps, y’all.…). Beginning June 26th, parishioner and physical therapist for Mercy Health, Matt Gingras will be donating his time on the fourth Sunday of the month to offer free physical therapy screenings for parishioners. These screenings will be available from 9:30 am- 1:30 pm in Loyola Hall and will include our after Mass monthly blood pressure screenings as well. Blood pressures will continue as usual after the 4:30pm and 6:30 am Masses. Please stop in and take advantage of this incredible and generous service. Thank you so much, Matt. We are extremely blessed and grateful!
As we continue with our planning of the Iggy 5k run, walk and kid dash, we want to encourage you to mark your calendars and plan to attend the event. Sign up and invite family and friends to do the same. If you are intimidated by the idea of running 3.1 miles, have no fear! As a certified distance running coach for the Road Runners Club of America, I will be hosting a free in person, on campus 5k coaching program beginning the first week in August. I will keep you updated on the details as we get closer. Here is the link to sign up during priority registration:

SoulCore has new summer hours… well, sort of. We have generously added 15 minutes to your sleep and will begin at 6:15 am every Thursday morning in Loyola Hall. Come discover the joy of functional movement combined with meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary. It’s a beautiful way to begin a new day!
The St. Ignatius perpetual fasting calendar for July will be posted the last week of June. Please consider signing up for one day in the month of July to offer prayers and fasting for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
Finally, congratulations to St. Ignatius’s own Megan Mears for winning the Miles for Mary mile a day challenge. Thank you to all who participated in the challenge. On behalf of the Parish Health ministry, a donation of $740 will be made to the Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Consolation in Carey, Ohio. I hope to continue these types of challenges to not only promote physical activity and healthy living, but also to encourage people to realize that we can make any of our daily activities a prayer!
May God bless you and keep you and your families safe.
