Knights of Columbus Raffle The annual Ohio K of C raffle is a major source of funds for LaSalle Council’s charitable activities. At the state level, the proceeds support Catholic High School scholarships and grants to seminaries, and individual seminarians. They also support Diocesan, Religious Education and Veterans programs across Ohio. At the local level, the proceeds allow us to make donations to the Athenaeum, local charities that promote all life at every stage and other worthy causes as well as to St. I’s Bible Bowl, Young Christian Hearts, American Heritage Girls, Boy Scouts, and the festival. They also help fund our annual “Keep Christ in Christmas” campaign.
Twenty-five prizes will be awarded totaling over $108,000 that range from $500 to $49,860. Tickets are $5 each. This year we will again sell tickets at the St. I Fish Fry. We also can mail them to your home with a stamped return envelope if you are interested in purchasing 2 or more tickets. Just email knights@sainti.org with your name, address and how many tickets you would like to purchase. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.

Braver Angels Workshops
March 7
Join us in Loyola Hall on Thursday, March 7 from 7-9pm for an interactive workshop presented by Braver Angels (https://braverangels.org/) in collaboration with our Archdiocesan Catholic Social Action & Respect Life offices. The Depolarizing Within Workshop helps participants look within to see how they may be engaging or participating in polarizing ways. The workshop offers participants the tools to develop strategies for engaging in political discussion without demonizing the other side. It also shows how to constructively intervene in social conversations with likeminded peers.
This workshop is designed to foster skills to recognize and lessen the effects of polarization when encountered within political conversations with your like-minded circle. When referring to “polarization,” Braver Angels is not referring to healthy disagreements over issues or philosophy. We are looking at how we regard and talk in polarizing terms about large groups of ordinary people on the other side of the political aisle. This 2-hour interactive workshop is for anyone interested in examining their own inner polarization and learning strategies to disagree without condemning or ridiculing others.
Please RSVP by contacting Brad Macke

Rorate Mass
Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6:30 AM
Doughnut breakfast/social to follow at Loyola Hall
The Rorate Mass is a particular votive Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrated during Advent. The atmosphere of this Mass is different: it is meant to specifically express the expectant and prayerful waiting of Advent in a visual and experiential way. It is celebrated before first light and is entirely candle-lit (accounting for our early start time). The Mass gets its name from its entrance antiphon, which begins with the words “Rorate Caeli”, meaning “drop down, you heavens.” The antiphon in full is taken from the book of the prophet Isaiah: “Drop down, you heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down the just one.” This quote encapsulates the prophetic expectation of the Messiah, fulfilled at the coming of Christ through Mary.
This is an opportunity to enter the Mass in (literally) a different light and a tradition that can help give shape to Advent, which, even within the Church, has gotten somewhat lost in the rush to celebrate Christmas.
In short, there’s no better use of your Saturday morning—please join us for this Advent Mass!
The American Heritage girls of Troop OH 3712 and their families would like to thank you for your support of our Busken Fundraiser. If you took an order form from church and would like to order, please get your order form and payment to the parish office on or before October 29th. We truly appreciate your support of our troop. Pick up of orders will be held on Tuesday, November 21– the Tuesday before Thanksgiving– in the concession stand area from 4-7PM. If you have any questions, please contact me, Debbie Morris, debbieamorris2@gmail.com or phone 513-451-6482. Again, thank you for your support.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Megan Mears for sharing her talents in music with the St. Ignatius community. Megan has worked with the Joyful Noise choir, the Youth Schola and served many special liturgies during her time at St. Ignatius. We are grateful for her contributions to the St. I community and wish her the best!

Want to go deeper in our Catholic faith?
Consider coming to Tolle et Lege book conversations, which is a conversation over a different book each month (option of morning or evening session), led by Brad Macke, Director of Adult Faith Formation.
Tolle et lege is Latin for “take and read”, which St. Augustine heard a voice say to him toward the beginning of his conversion to Christianity. His conversion involved his heart and his “head” (intellect) – a reminder that the Catholic faith affirms the importance of growing intellectually, since the more we KNOW Jesus, the more we can LOVE Him.
We will read a variety of books ranging from general Catholic topics, to spiritual writing for meditation, to works of literature. Books are typically purchased by the parish in bulk (discounted), then for sale in the parish office. See the line up of selected books and the schedule on this page.
Questions? Email evangelization@sainti.org.
Check back later this summer for more information on our Fall/Winter series!
