James J. Gardner Family Chair of Moral Theology
Kenneth Craycraft holds the James J. Gardner Family Chair in Moral Theology at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary & School of Theology. He is a regular columnist for Our Sunday Visitor, OSV News, The Catholic Telegraph, and the U.K. Catholic Herald. He has won multiple Catholic Press awards for general commentary for his “A Closer Look” column The Catholic Telegraph. He is the author of two books: Citizens Yet Strangers: Living Authentically Catholic in a Divided America (Our Sunday Visitor Press, March 11, 2024); and The American Myth of Religious Freedom (Spence, 1999). Dr. Craycraft and his wife, Sue, are parishioners at St. Andrew, in Milford. They have nine children and nine grandchildren (and one on the way). Three of his grown children work full time for the Church, and a fourth is a first-year seminarian at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary. In his spare time, Dr. Craycraft bicycles all over Clermont, Brown, Warren, and Clinton Counties, and is an avid reader of fiction.
