God is the father of all of us, whether we’re born with a chromosomal irregularity, whether we’re born into a difficult state in life, whether we’re wanted or expected or not expected. Each and every one of us has God as our father, and we’re wanted by God. And this is the fundamental reality of all of our lives and the most important thing to keep in mind as we’re approaching Election Day on Tuesday. Fr. Sean Wilson reflects on the readings for this 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time.

“Parents have the first, the primary, and the irreplaceable authority over their children in matters of their education, their formation, and their upbringing. This authority is not given to them by any state, but rather it is God-given. And yet, this fall, if Issue 1 passes, this authority will be ripped away from parents and given to other adults,” Fr. John Paul Walker, O.P. reflects on the readings for this 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Issue 1 does not align with
our values

The proposed constitutional amendment, Issue 1, this November removes parental rights, it threatens the family. It permits abortion up to 9 months. And it would increase the chance of harm to women by allowing the elimination of health and safety standards that are currently in place. Issue 1, clearly, does not align with our Catholic values. Join me in voting no on Issue 1 this November.” Fr. Kevin Scalf, C.PP.S reflects on the Gospel for the 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Fr. Jacob Boddicker, SJ

Video 3
Father Jacob Boddicker, SJ, reflects on the readings of the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time. “These sinners listened to John the Baptist and his appeal to repent of their sins, and they did so. But these religious men ignored John and, therefore, are ignoring Christ. When it comes to abortion, our Church has condemned this sin as murder. And we have to remember that even if we fail in our efforts to save the lives of innocent children, there are other lives wounded by abortion: the mother, the father, the doctor, the nurse,” said Father Boddicker.

Video 2
Father Roger Lopez, OFM, reflects on the readings of the 25th Sunday in Ordinary Time. He asks each of us to consider our invitation to follow the Lord and to allow Jesus to be our “coach.”

Fr. Jacob Lindle

Video 1
Father Jacob Lindle reflects on the readings of this past weekend (19th Sunday in Ordinary Time). In our first reading, Elijah meets God not in the strong wind, not in the earthquake, and not in the fire. He meets Him, instead, in the tiny whispering sound of a small voice. We, too, must find God’s voice in the poorest and most vulnerable, the child.
