Rosary Promise # 12

12. Those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.

I won’t lie… I had to look up the meaning of the word “propagate”. The first meaning I ran across had me scratching my head… to breed animals or plants. Thankfully, there
was another, more fitting to my search. That is to promote or spread.
I have gone through cycles in my adult life where I am very devoted to praying a daily rosary and in my fervor, I often encourage those in my circle to pray it also. I also try to
make sure I am not just reciting words, but truly meditating on its mysteries. There are days it is an absolute struggle and I find myself many times over, bringing myself back to the prayers, the mystery of the moment and power it yields. I have also had many cycles that I fall off course. I lose devotion, zeal and desire. It is during these times of
dryness that I have to remind myself how very much Satan hates the rosary. I tell myself that my prayers must be most powerful when I want to say them the least. One thing I have definitely noticed is that the Blessed Mother is so very attentive to even the smallest request and when I am praying with my heart and encouraging others to do the same. She makes sure I am fully aware of her happiness.

One such example was Mother’s Day in 2020. As all are aware, most of the country was coming out of lockdown. Families had been separated and everyone was ready to reunite and enjoy one another. I had planned a family brunch for that morning and was expecting a decent sized crowd (over 20). We had an egg hunt planned for the kids, however the weather looked ominous. By Friday, there was a 100% chance of heavy rain on Sunday. I distinctly recall looking out my kitchen window and seeing the statue of Mary in our back yard. I asked her to please make sure the sun came out that day and though every available weather app and channel kept showing heavy rain, I had the confidence that she would honor my request. I should mention that during Lent that year, I had read St. Louis de Monfort’s book, Secrets of the Rosary and had sent it to my sister. St. Louis de Monfort was a huge promoter of the Rosary and I was very moved by his witness to its power.

On Sunday morning, Mother’s Day, we awoke to a beautiful day, filled with sunshine. I smiled so big. I knew exactly who was responsible for that gift. In promise # 12, Our Lady is telling us that those who spread or promote devotion to the Rosary shall be aided by her in their necessities, and clearly, she means big or small.
This is such a huge win for anyone who walks the planet. There isn’t a Saint in the entire Communion of Saints more loved by God than His very own mother. I would bet
money on it .
