I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
Let’s face it… few of us die in a state of spiritual perfection. That is to say, most of us, perhaps the greatest of Saints excluded, leave this world with attachments to things other than God. These could be attachments to material things or things such as sinful habits, vices and feelings. Our Catholic faith teaches that those souls who die in friendship and Communion with God, but still attached to the things of this world, first spend some time in Purgatory in order to be purified and perfected before entering Heaven and sharing in the Beatific vision. How long each soul spends in purgatory is dependent on a few things including the degree of attachment, the redemptive suffering they experienced on earth and the prayers of the living faithful.
Promise #9 from our Blessed Mother also gives us another way to decrease our time spent in Purgatory. Mary promises to deliver those who have been devoted to the Rosary. While Our Lady does not specify the amount of time cut short, we can be sure that since it comes from her, it is significant and generous. Also, anyone who becomes truly devoted in their hearts will have fewer attachments by the very nature of the power of the beads Begin to develop devotion to the Rosary and get to Heaven faster!
