Becoming Catholic – R.C.I.A.
Interested in Catholicism?
God created you out of His overflowing love to be united with Him forever. When the sin of our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, separated us from God, He did not let it end there. He sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to enter our humanity, dwell among us, and seek after us to heal us and save us. God has given us all that we need in His Church in order to encounter Him, to be brought back into relationship with Him, and to the life He has planned for us.
Do you have questions about the Catholic faith and why Catholics do what they do? Do you have a son or daughter receiving a Sacrament this upcoming year and you desire to be able to teach and guide him/her spiritually and morally? Do you have a son or daughter that comes home from school talking about what they are learning in religion class and wish you knew more about the Catholic faith, so you could talk more about it with him/her? Do you watch your spouse receive Holy Communion at Mass and wish you could also receive Jesus into yourself, as well as share that deeper spiritual bond with your spouse?
If any of these describe you, consider coming to our Becoming Catholic-RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) gatherings, where you can get your questions answered, learn more about God’s plans and desires for your life, grow in prayer & friendship, and consider the gift of becoming Catholic.
Attending the Becoming Catholic-RCIA sessions does NOT mean you are committing to becoming Catholic, but rather is open to the possibility. God honors each person’s free will and so do we! Our gatherings will be every Tuesday from 7:00-8:30pm in the Ignatius Center (5215 North Bend Road) across the street from the church. Each session will include prayer, a presentation, Q&A/conversation, and sometimes a person sharing their own personal story as a Catholic.
