February 15 – The Eucharist, Strength to Forgive: The Story of St. Maria Goretti and Alessandro Serenelli by Marty Arlinghaus 

Marty Arlinghaus is the Director of Prison Ministry for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the founder of the Serenelli Project, a prison re-entry monastic community. He grew up on the west side of Cleveland and attended the University of Cincinnati studying music and German. After graduating in 2014, he entered seminary at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary of the West in 2015 and completed the pre-theology program before discerning a different call. He spent some time doing woodworking in cabinet shops after seminary. He married his wife in 2018. They have three children. He began work in the prison ministry in April 2019 and started working on the Serenelli Project in January of 2020. He enjoys practicing his German speaking skills over a good German beer and polka dancing at Oktoberfests. He also enjoys singing for liturgies.
