St. Ignatius School is pleased to welcome three new school security officers to our campus: Mr. Ploehs, Mr. Manson, and Mr. Fritz. All three are retired police officers from the Cincinnati Police Department and bring decades of experience and dedication to student safety.
Our new officers will be responsible for helping keep school grounds safe and will be present during student recess throughout the week. Their addition to our campus reflects St. Ignatius’s continued commitment to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
Mr. Ploehs (pronounced “Place”) retired after 30 years with the Cincinnati Police Department and will serve St. Ignatius on Mondays.
Mr. Manson also retired after 30 years with CPD. He has a special connection to our community as a former St. Ignatius parent; his daughter graduated in 2019. Mr. Manson will be on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Mr. Fritz retired after an impressive 34-year career with CPD. He is married to Mrs. Fritz, who serves as a third-grade aide and assists in the nurse’s office. Mr. Fritz began subbing at St. Ignatius earlier this year and will serve as a security officer on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The hiring of these officers was made possible in part through our recent school safety campaign, which raised more than $20,000 to support enhanced security measures. We are grateful for the generosity and support of our school community, which helped make this important initiative a reality.
We are thankful to have these experienced professionals joining St. Ignatius and are confident they will be a reassuring and positive presence for our students, staff, and families.
