Liturgical Music Opportunities at St. Ignatius
Do you enjoy singing and/or playing a musical instrument? Consider becoming a part of a liturgical music group here at St. Ignatius! There are several opportunities for singers and instrumentalists to share their musical talents with the parish, including:
Contemporary Music Groups
These groups lead the congregation in singing traditional and contemporary music at our Masses and special celebrations. Contact the following group leaders for more information.

Sunday 12:00 noon: 1st and 2nd Sundays of the month

Sunday 12:00 noon: 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month

The Women’s Ensemble
This adult choir rehearses 3:30-4:15 p.m, on the 3rd & 4th Saturdays. We sing twice a month (weeks 3 & 4) at the 4:30 p.m. Saturday Mass and on other special occasions. Contact Patty Stretch (513.661.6565) if you are interested.
Children’s Choirs
2nd-5th Grade
Rehearse on Monday mornings in Doug Donoghue’s classroom (216) from 8 – 8:35 a.m. and sing at the 9:15 school Mass on Tuesday mornings.
6th-8th Grade
Rehearse on Tuesday mornings in Doug Donoghue’s classroom (216) from 8 – 8:35 a.m. and sing at the 9:15 school Mass on Wednesday mornings.
Both groups will sing at some all-school Masses and possibly a Mass at Christmas and Easter. Contact Doug at ddonoghue@saintischool.org or (513.389.3242, ext. 2216) if interested.
The Jr. High Handbell & Chime Choir
For students in grades 7 and 8, this group rehearses Wednesdays, 1:10-1:50 p.m. Contact Gwenn Brown if interested.
The Good News Chorus
This mixed vocal group with instrumental accompaniment performs the 1st and 2nd Sunday noon Masses each month. They meet at 10:30 a.m. before each Mass to rehearse. They also participate in other liturgical celebrations during the year. Open to male and female musicians, 18 years or older.
St. Ignatius Holiday Choir
This seasonal vocal choir sings for major celebrations such as Christmas and Easter, as well as other special Masses throughout the year. Weekly rehearsals are scheduled during Advent and Lent, and as needed for other events. They will be singing for the Easter Triduum this year (April 2-4): Holy Thursday Mass at 7:00 p.m., Good Friday service at 1:30 p.m., and Holy Saturday Easter Vigil at 8:45 p.m. Rehearsals will be held every Thursday in March and Tuesday the 31st from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the parish office music room. Open to male and female singers, 18 years or older. Previous choral experience is helpful, but not required.
