St. Vincent de Paul
As Catholic-Christians, we are called to follow Christ through service to those in need, and we bear witness to His compassionate and liberating love.
The St. Ignatius Conference of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a ministry for unmet physical and spiritual needs in our community. Our volunteers – called Vincentians – demonstrate love in action to help our neighbors with their immediate needs for food, rent and utilities and to offer hope.
Our conference is part of the St. Vincent de Paul Cincinnati Council, with services, food pantry, charitable pharmacy, offices, and more based in the West End and thrift stores throughout Hamilton County. We also are part of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the world’s largest Catholic lay organization.

Here’s How You Can Help
Every cent of your donation to the St. Ignatius Conference is used for our neighbors, so please give what you can:
- During our special basket collection on the first Sunday of each month.
- In the weekly collection, placing your donation in an envelope designated for “SVDP.”
- Online anytime through our WeShare Giving site.
Please consider the St. Ignatius Conference for memorial donations and in your estate planning.

St. Ignatius School Has Mini Vinnies, Too!
Through the Mini Vinnies Service Club, St. Ignatius School offers service opportunities to students in fourth through eighth grade. Mini Vinnies introduces children to St. Vincent de Paul, to social justice issues, and to living their faith in action through the “See, Think, Do!” model of service. Mini Vinnies completes service during monthly meetings and with their families. This student group is one of the few Mini Vinnies programs in the country.

Transformative Figures Shaped Catholic Social Outreach Around the World
St. Vincent de Paul devoted his life to provide relief to the poor. He is considered the patron saint of all works of charity, hospitals and volunteers, and is sometimes referred to as “The Apostle of Charity” and “The Father of the Poor.”
Blessed Frédéric Ozanam, whose academic works helped shape Catholic social doctrine, founded the Society with friends. Placed under the patronage of St. Vincent de Paul, the Society continues to help others through neighborhood ministry.
