There are also many opportunities for students to share their talents by participating in the following ministries:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Altar Servers Grades 5 \u2013 8<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Altar servers help lead the assembly in the worship of God. By leading the processions, respectfully handling the sacred vessels and holy books, and reverently assisting the priest and deacon, altar servers help guide the congregation\u2019s attention to the true presence of Jesus Christ in the celebration of the Eucharist. This opportunity to serve at school liturgies is open to all students in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. At the end of the 4th grade year, aspiring servers will complete a one-hour training, during which they are trained in the sanctuary and sacristy. Others can be trained at any time by appointment by calling the Parish Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Grades 7 \u2013 8<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eighth grade students may choose to serve as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Seventh graders may attend training after receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lectors Grades 7 \u2013 8<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students may have the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God at our school Masses throughout the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Liturgical Music<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Children Praising Hymn Choir Grades 2 -5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Children\u2019s Choir for grades 3- 5 rehearses on Monday Mornings in Mr. Donoghue\u2019s classroom (216) from 7:50 \u2013 8:35 and sing at the 9:15am school Mass on Tuesday mornings. The choir is led by Mr. Donoghue with Ms. Beitz and Mrs. Manning assisting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For His Glory Praise Band Grades 6-8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rehearsals are held on Tuesdays at 7:50 a.m. The choir sings at every Wednesday 9:15 a.m., as well as a few all-school Masses throughout the year. For more information, contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ddonoghue@saintischool.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Mr. Doug Donoghue<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Both choirs will sing at some all-school Masses and possibly a Mass at Christmas and Easter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Handbell and Chime Choir Grade 6-8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rehearsals will take place on Wednesday afternoons during study hall (1:15pm \u2013 2:15) in Loyola Hall.
