Congratulations, Mrs. Sieve!
Mrs. Sieve Retires after 34 years in Catholic Education
Congratulations to Vice Principal Laura Sieve on her retirement! Mrs. Sieve has served this community in the classroom for 20 years and as an administrator for 14 years. In fact, she was the first Assistant Principal at St. Ignatius! Mrs. Sieve attended the school as a child and has been a long time faithful parishioner.
“I feel blessed to have been able to serve the parish of St. Ignatius,” says Mrs. Sieve. “I’ve met many wonderful families and tons of great kids. The future is full of promise based on what I have witnessed.”
As a National Board Certified Teacher, Mrs. Sieve’s accomplishments and credentials are numerous and impressive:
Mrs. Sieve has been an assessor for the State of Ohio for licensing new teachers, and observed hundreds of great teachers; led two Accreditation teams during her tenure as Vice Principal; helped write the Blue Ribbon School Award and traveled to Washington DC to accept the Award; and partnered with schools in France, Japan, and China to arrange an exchange program for St. Ignatius students.
She says her fondest memory is “feeling the energy and excitement of the students when they are proud of themselves, no matter whether it is winning a competition or just looking forward to having fun with their friends.”
Mrs. Sieve is a shining example for both students and teachers alike, and she will be missed greatly after she retires at the end of this school year. Mrs. Sieve is the proud mother of two, St. Ignatius alums Erik and Kristy. She is looking forward to traveling and having more time to spend with her husband and grandchildren when she retires. Congratulations to Mrs. Sieve and may God bless her for her dedication to Catholic education for 34 years!
