What is SafeParish Training?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SafeParish provides training and certification in the protection of children and vulnerable adults against sexual abuse. SafeParish certification has been in use in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati since July 2021 (the archdiocese had previously used VIRTUS since 2012).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who needs to complete SafeParish Training?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any adult who plans on working or volunteering with children or vulnerable adults in any capacity in the Catholic Church or St. Ignatius Parish MUST<\/strong> complete safe environment training through SafeParish. This includes completing the training, background check, acknowledgement of the Decree on Child Protection, AND<\/strong> staying up to date on quarterly bulletins as they come to you via email.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much does a background check cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are completing the background check for the first time, it costs $30. If you are renewing your background check, the cost is $20. Please contact safeparish@sainti.org<\/a><\/strong> if you are in need of financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SafeParish registration process (new users):<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2, Click “Register.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Enter Password: protectcincy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Select \u201cSt. Ignatius Loyola \u2013 Cincinnati.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Select Volunteer (Or Employee if applicable).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Enter your personal details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Follow the prompts to complete the\u00a0online background check, acknowledge the decree,<\/strong>\u00a0AND complete the full video training online<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete missing trainings:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.<\/strong> Log in using your user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Click \u201cTraining.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Click \u201cDue.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Complete any listed trainings. Remember to keep up with quarterly video trainings by repeating this process when prompted via email<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Complete or renew background check:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. <\/strong>Log in using your user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Click “My Account.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Click the “Complete online background check” link. Note: this will launch a non-archdiocesan website. <\/strong>If prompted to access, click “Yes” or similar prompt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Enter your personal details (name, address, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Enter your payment information when prompted. Note: the cost is $30 for a first-time background check and $20 for a renewal.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check your completion of requirements:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. <\/strong>Log in using your user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Click “My Account.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Look at the list of approval tasks (the box in front of each should be solid black if completed, and ALL MUST BE COMPLETED for APPROVED compliance)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5 .Click all tasks that are not completed and follow the prompts to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Acknowledge the Decree:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. <\/strong>Log in using your user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Click “My Account.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Click “Decree.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Click both links that appear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Click the big blue button confirming you downloaded, read, and accepted the new decree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add St. Ignatius as a secondary location in an already existing account:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. <\/strong>Log in using your user name and password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Click “My Account.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Under the check boxes, click the small orange link \u201cEdit Orgs\/Roles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Click \u201cAdd organization.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Select “Saint Ignatius Loyola-Cincinnati.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Click Submit!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reset your SafeParish password<\/strong>:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Go to the AoC SafeParish website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Click \u201cForgot Password.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Enter the email address associated with your SafeParish account and submit. An email will be sent to your email account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Open your email program.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Click the link in the password reset email you received.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Follow the instructions to reset your password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
