Funerals & Bereavement Ministry

Arranging and Planning a Funeral

If you would like to arrange a funeral for a loved one, the first step would be to contact a funeral home. The funeral home will then contact our Parish Office and a member from the Bereavement Ministry will be in touch with you.

Funeral Readings

Use the blue button icons down the right of this page to help plan the funeral readings. These Scriptures are appropriate for use at Catholic Funeral Liturgies.

One reading is chosen from each section:

• Old Testament
• New Testament
• Gospels

A Responsorial Psalm is also chosen. The Old and New Testament readings may be read by a family member, friend, or parish lector. The Response will be chanted by the Cantor. The Gospel will be proclaimed by a Priest or Deacon.

Choose from the readings listed (blue buttons) on this page and bring your selected readings to your meeting with the funeral planner. The readings provided in the blue button links are the only choices to read during the liturgy.

If you have any questions, a member of the Bereavement Ministry can be reached at bereavement@sainti.orgOr call the Parish Office at 513.661.6565, option 5.

Our
Bereavement
Ministry

We are a caring group of people who assist and serve the bereaved at the time of their loss by coordinating all aspects of liturgy preparation for the Mass of Christian Burial. We meet in September and October to plan the annual Memorial Mass in November.
