Obtain Plenary Indulgence with Bishop Fernandes

Obtain Plenary Indulgence with Bishop Fernandes on June 29! Hopefully you saw that Bishop Fernandes is coming back to St. Ignatius on June 29 for a Mass of Thanksgiving, followed by a picnic.  Since that date is the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul, we can receive a plenary indulgence if we use a religious object on that day that has been blessed by a bishop. An indulgence is defined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church as “a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven.” Bishop Fernandes will bless Rosaries in advance, which will then be given away for parishioners to pray a decade of the Rosary together in church beginning at 5:45pm (Mass begins at 6pm) on June 29.

The indulgence will be available under the usual conditions of Confession within 20 days, Holy Communion, and prayer in accordance with the intentions of the Supreme Pontiff. See details for another plenary indulgence available on July 24, the second World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly: https://www.thecatholictelegraph.com/ vatican-offers-plenary-indulgence-for-visiting-theelderly-on-grandparents-day/81356
