Musings from Fr. Dave ~ 16th Sunday Ordinary Time

19 July 2020

July is rapidly moving along. Masses here at St. Ignatius have that “Covid Feel”, we are remaining socially distant and continue to pray for one another. As one of your priests, I am happy to see everyone partaking in our Liturgies, but it is a challenge. I miss seeing a full church, I miss being around all our little ones. There is a lesson in there somewhere. Like you, I am searching for it. We are moving along. One lesson to be learned is patience. Patience as we wear our masks. Patience with our precautions. Patience with each other.

The Word this week continues the theme of small things becoming big things. Tiny seeds becoming full blown plants. The miracle of yeast and flour. The ever-present threat of weeds.

No matter what we are facing in life, we can rely on the Holy Spirit who is always with us no matter what twists and turns we face. We can count on the limitless forgiveness of Jesus. We will become stronger and better once this pandemic is over. Have faith. Trust in our loving God.

Peace and All Good,
Fr. Dave
